Reviews are on their way!

Don'tcha just love summer?

Lazy, hazy days and all of that??

Well it was great, took some time off, stepped away from the blog and lo and behold...and my e-reader died.  I mean, deader than a door nail dead.  Tech support tried like crazy to breath some life into the old gal...but... oh well. On to the newer version.

SO while a new one is on its way....hang in there, I'll have some scorchingly fabulous reviews up in a couple of days!!

A lesson to be ruminated over...I'll never look at a hard copy ARC the same way again...dang they are handy and never become unreadable.  well rarely ever.

The secret is out...THE CUCKOO'S CALLING is written by J.K. Rowling herself!

The original info supplied by publisher Little Brown, told us this about the author, Robert Galbraith:

“After several years with the Royal Military Police, Robert Galbraith was attached to the SIB (Special Investigative Branch), the plain-clothes branch of the RMP. He left the military in 2003 and has been working since then in the civilian security industry. The idea for Cormoran Strike grew directly out of his own experiences and those of his military friends who returned to the civilian world. ‘Robert Galbraith’ is a pseudonym.”

Of course, we now know that it's J.K. Rowling herself!  I found two different cover images, and they seem to be targeting different readers. LOL

Bits from a statement from publisher Little Brown:

“Reagan Arthur, Publisher of Little, Brown and Company, announced today that it has been revealed in a Sunday Times (London) story that J. K. Rowling is the author of the novel THE CUCKOO’S CALLING, under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith."
“We are really looking forward to publishing the second book in the Strike series next summer.".
Rowling told the Sunday Times of London “I had hoped to keep this secret a little longer because being Robert Galbraith has been such a liberating experience. It has been wonderful to publish without hype or expectation and pure pleasure to get feedback under a different name.”

I'm downloading it now....

We have a trailer for SAVING MR. BANKS!

Tom Hanks IS Walt Disney in SAVING MR. BANKS!

SAVING MR BANKS is the story of how the legendary Walt Disney fought to bring P.L. Travers' 1934 book MARY POPPINS to life on screen.

We know the outcome...but not the road that was taken to get us to "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."

Here's a great interview with SAVING MR BANKS director
John Lee Hancock.  Click here to read the interview.

Publisher's synopsis
Samuel Cooke knows most women wouldn’t give him a second glance even if he were the last man on earth. He’s the cripple with crutches, the nerdy computer genius every female past puberty feels compelled to mother. So when he leaves his lucrative career to teach programming to high schoolers, romance definitely isn’t on his radar.

Perhaps that’s why Greta Cassamajor catches him off guard. The sarcastic gym coach with zero sense of humor is no beauty—not even on the inside. But an inexplicably kind act toward Samuel makes him realize she is interesting.

Samuel is certain she won’t accept his invitation to dinner—so when she does, he’s out of his depth. All he knows is that he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her as long as he can. Pretending he’s got his class under control? Easy. Being vulnerable enough to admit why he ditched his programming career for teaching? Um, no. That would require honesty. And if there’s one thing Samuel can’t exist without, it’s the lies he tells himself.

In this poignant, witty debut, Ramsey Hootman upends traditional romance tropes to weave a charming tale of perseverance, trust, and slightly conditional love.

My thoughts up next!
